Visit Scolty
Scolty Hill offers a network of well-marked woodland trails suitable for all ages and abilities. Paths wind gently through Scots pine and birch forest before opening onto the heather-clad summit, where Scolty Tower stands overlooking the Dee Valley. From here, walkers are rewarded with sweeping views of Banchory, the River Dee, and the surrounding hills.
There are three main paths from the Scolty car park to the summit. And a path connecting the Village of Strachan to the hill. Scolty car Park is located in Auchattie, a 30 minute walk from Banchory.
The woodlands around Scolty also have a number of different paths including three mainatined and marked by Forestry and Land Scotland.
The Deeside Way, a 65-kilometre route stretching from Aberdeen to Ballater, passes beside the hill and through the Scolty car park.
Scolty carpark costs £2 for up to 1 hour, £2.50 for up to 3 hours and £3 for all day.
