About Us

The Feughside Community Association (FCA) is a local charity dedicated to supporting and enriching life in the Feughside Community Council area for its residents and beyond.

Everything we do is guided by our commitment to sustainable development and to building a thriving, connected community. Unlike the Community Council, the FCA can buy and own assets on behalf of the community.

FCA is currently focusing on two main initiatives:

  • Developing a community garden, wildflower meadow, and woodland at Manse Croft in Strachan.

  • Keeping the village bright and welcoming during the summer months with colourful flower boxes, organised by the Strachan Flowers Group.

Our Trustees

FCA currently has five trustees:

  • David Loosley (Chair)

  • Caroline Clephan (Secretary)

  • Ross Clephan (Treasurer)

  • Christopher Caldwell

  • Michael Sanderson

The role of the trustees is to:

  • Assess the feasibility and benefits of potential community projects

  • Develop business plans in conjunction with the Garden Group

  • Seek resources for projects including volunteers, contractors, and funding

  • Ensure that the charity meets its statutory, legal, and financial obligations

The Strachan Garden Group is responsible for developing the garden, meadow, and woodland plans, as well as organising monthly volunteer days.

Get Involved

Drop an email to strachancommunitygarden@gmail.com to find out how you can get involved.

Keep an eye on the FCA Facebook page for updates on our activities, upcoming events, and monthly Community Volunteer Days. These events are open to everyone in the area, offering a chance to come together, get involved, and help shape our environment.

While the main focus is the Strachan Community Garden, meadow, and woodland at Manse Croft, we also organise workshops that promote biodiversity and environmental improvement. Where places are limited FCA members are given priority.

The garden is a space for the whole community, and with your support, it can continue to grow into a vibrant and welcoming place for all.
